Koko Collection
I’ve been working on a collection of Koko Crater images for a couple years. This extinct volcano is my mini Mount Fuji. Unlike the perfect conical shape of Fuji, Koko Crater can look different based on your point of view. Here are all my recent attempts in infrared, converted to simple black and white.
View from Hanauma Bay Ridge.
Further up the ridge. You can see the toilet bowl inlet from this angle and all the way to Sandy Beach.
Koko Head Elementary, appropriate name for this school
Kohelepelepe is the Hawaiian name for Koko Crater. The story, or ‘ōlelo, behind its name is worth a google.

View from Wāwāmalu on a blue-bird morning
A vivid rainbow arching over the crater. I only had the infrared camera this afternoon, so I wasn’t able to catch any color shots.
